BIG BEN

During 2009, the United Kingdom Parliament commemorated the 150th anniversary of its iconic Clock Tower, Great Clock, and Great Bell.

Although frequently referred to as Big Ben, this name was initially designated to the Great Bell. The year 1859 marked the inception of all three components: the completion of the Clock Tower, the commencement of the Great Clock on May 31st, and the inaugural chimes of the Great Bell on July 11th.

• Add a digital clock display
• Show a seconds hand
• Enable a tick-tock sound
• Incorporate quarter-hour chimes and hourly tolls (the chiming and tolling sounds will play even when the application is closed, provided your device is not muted, and notifications are permitted in the General Settings for Big Ben)

Perceived as unnecessary by some, yet undoubtedly ornamental.
